Carte de visite album with thirty images collected by Augustin Clayton Houze and Vallie Long Houze.
Photographs are in very good shape; the album however is completely separated from the text block. The text block is broken and some of the pages have torn because of the break.

Houze Family carte de visite album, MSS 018, Heritage Room, Athens Clarke-County Library, Athens, GA, USA.
The carte de visite album contains thirty photographs with many of the names ascribed on or below the images. Several of the empty pages have names, suggesting that there were additional photographs that have been lost. Vallie Long received the album in January 1869 and was the primary compiler of the album. Many of the gentlemen photographs were collected by Augustin Houze from his classmates and were added to the album after he and Vallie were married.
This collection is open to the public. Library policy on photography and photocopying will apply. Advance notice may be required. Apply in the Heritage Room for access.
